Itinerary 4-DAY MOROCCO STUDENT TOUR FROM MARRAKECH TO MERZOUGA DESERT

DAY 1: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – AIT BENHADDOU – BOUMALNE DADES

The trip starts with a morning pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech. From there, the road climbs into the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka pass, with stops along the way to take in the scenery. Mid-route, the group visits Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed kasbah that has doubled as the backdrop for numerous film productions. The journey continues through Ouarzazate — often called the gateway to the Sahara — before ending the day in the Dades Valley.

DAY 2: DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – MERZOUGA DESERT

After breakfast, the group heads to the Todra Gorges, one of the most memorable stops on the route, where towering rock walls rise on either side of a narrow canyon floor students can walk right through. By afternoon, the landscape opens onto the Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga. As the sun starts to set, students climb onto camels for a ride into the desert, arriving at a traditional Berber camp for a night under the stars, campfire music, and a home-style Moroccan dinner.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – DRAA VALLEY – OUARZAZATE

The morning begins early, with sunrise breaking over the dunes — a highlight most students remember long after the trip ends. After breakfast, the group heads back by camel or 4×4 and continues toward Rissani, known for its lively local market. The route then passes through the Draa Valley, lined with palm groves and old kasbahs, before arriving in Ouarzazate, where students can visit the Atlas Film Studios (optional) or simply relax for the evening.

DAY 4: OUARZAZATE – TIZI N’TICHKA – MARRAKECH

After breakfast, the group makes its way back to Marrakech across the High Atlas, with photo stops along the scenic route. The tour wraps up in Marrakech by early afternoon, closing out four days of learning, laughter, and shared experience.
