Desert Tour Itinerary Day-by-Day
DAY 1: FES – MIDDLE ATLAS – HOTEL NEAR THE DESERT
Your journey starts in Fes, where you’ll meet your professional driver/guide and join a small shared group in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle equipped for desert travel. As the city fades behind you, the route crosses the rugged Middle Atlas Mountains and opens onto vast plains dotted with traditional Berber villages. Along the way, there are stops at local markets and roadside spots to try authentic Moroccan snacks and browse handmade crafts. Despite the shared transport, the night is spent in a private hotel room near the edge of the desert.
DAY 2: HOTEL – MERZOUGA – SAHARA DESERT CAMP
After breakfast, the journey continues toward Merzouga, arriving at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in time for a sunset camel trek across the sand. The group settles into a private, comfortable tent for the night at a desert camp deep in the Sahara, followed by an evening around the campfire — traditional music, shared stories, and the quiet of the desert under a full sky of stars. The trip concludes with a return to Fes, or you can choose to extend your stay in the desert.
