Itinerary Plan for 7-Day Tour from Marrakech to the Desert

Day 1: Arrival At Marrakech – Transfert to the Hotel

When Arriving in Marrakech in the afternoon, our team will receive you at the airport. The team will help you to check the place of your stay in the city. After that, you will be going on a walk to discover the Jamaa El Fnna Square and the souks where you will have dinner.

Day 2: Full Day To Visit Marrakech

This day is devoted to visiting the famous places of Marrakech. You will start by visiting the Menara, an old pool surrounded by beautiful gardens and fields irrigated from the pool using an old system of irrigation, which was established in the 12 century. the over View of the tour will consider several important places in the city for exemple the Koutoubia Mosque, Majorelle Gardens, Bahia Palace, and Dar Si Said Palace Museum of jewellery. The guide will invite you for an optional lunch in the Medina, and then you will walk the colorful souks of Marrakech. The sunset time you will have an overlook from the terrace of a café to the Jamaa Elna square. The day will End with a special dinner served at your place of stay.

Day 3: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades

The following day the tour will start from Marrakesh. At 8 am we will drive through the High Atlas Mountains which is known as the highest top in Morocco 4,167m named Toubkal go Through the Tizi N’Tichka passage on the mountain and enjoy the various landscape views. On the route, we will have a break for tea with mint or coffee at one of the Amazigh Hamlets. The next break will be at Ait Ben Hadou village to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Hadou; an old building that is for collective living, this Kasbah is nominated as a UNESCO Heritage in 1987. This Kasbah and the region, in general, it is

very important for the industry of film making (famous movies like the man who would be king in 1975 and many others) it is also a fortress on the Salt Road where caravans from different regions came to buy slaves, gold, ivory and salt. Here we will enjoy the lunch time special food of the region. Then we will continue the path towards the Dades Valley, through the Kalaat Magouna; a town known by it’s thousands hectares of roses you can admire on May, Skoura Amazigh villages surrounding the valley of Dades; this valley which is shaped in a form of gorges long time ago, here we can spend the first night.

Day4: SAHARA DESERT TOUR 4×4 AROUND MERZOUGA – CAMEL TREK NIGHT IN DESERT

The following day after your breakfast meal. The caravan will continue the road through the valley admiring the amazing rock formation ( the monkey toes) and the integration of the of Kasbahs within the beautiful nature to name but a few the amazing Kasbah of AitYul from the 19 century. Entering Tinrghir region and the Todra Valley and it’s panoramic landscape view and surrounding Amazigh villages. In the Todra valley we will have a walk through the river with it’s amazing 300m high red cliff which a favorite destination for many rock-limbers to practice this sport. Lunch time will be served either in Rissani or Erfoud; two town oasis in the sahara, before leaving to merzouga the village of the golden sand where you will be welcomed with a tea with mint then checking in a Hotel and leave ride camels to the camp in desert to enjoy the sunrise and spend the night under the Amazigh tent

DAY 5: MERZOUGA – OUARZAZATE

In the early morning our guide will wake up you very early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise shining over the golden sand of Mezouga. A few minutes later you will ride back to the auberge at the village to take a fresh shower and a tasty breakfast. Then you will take the route towards Oaurzazate to overnight and visit this wonderful cinematographic place called Hollywood of Morocco, taking pictures in its monuments used for filming.  Passing through many different landscapes and villages Errissani where the Mausoleum of the first sultan of the current Dynasty of Morocco the grandfather of Mohammed the 6th Moulay Ali Cherif.  You may stop for lunch when it is time at one of those villages. .

DAY 6: OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH

The next morning, you will have a breakfast meal. Then we will start the trip From Ouarzazate, meeting the valley of roses which is cultivated with hectares of roses; their beauty and smell could be seen on May. The drive will take us to the Ighram “the fortified village” of Ait ben Haddou; where we will have lunch, whose name is taken from the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, world Hiretage site by UNSCO in 1987, where famous films were shot to name but a few as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, The Mummy. Tizi Ntichka, is the next stop, a mountain wind road which we will climb to the top and take picture of the amazing view. At the end of the road you will meet Marrakech again where you will spend the last nigh.

DAY 7: MARRAKECH – TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT

The last day of you journey will start from the hotel. As you will finish your breakfast the tour driver will take you to the airport of Marrakech Menara.

After that, you will ride back camels to Merzouga at a hotel where you can get a fresh shower and a tasty breakfast before going on a visit to the villages surrounding Erg Chebbi dunes such as Hassi Labied, Merdani, Khamlia andM’fis. We will meet locals on the way to Khamlia who will show you their desert fausses. On the sand, you will probably encounter desert reptiles and mammals. Arriving in Khamilia known as the Gnawi village, black people coming from southern countries of Africa as slaves in the past, get integrated into Moroccan society. Detailed Plan of the 4 Days from Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Gorge (348 km/ 6h30m)

The four days tour will start from Marrakesh where we will meet for the first time; this city was an old capital of Morocco’s ancient monarchs, and it is named to be the capital of the Maghreb Union. At 8 am we will drive through the High Atlas mountains which are known as the highest top in Morocco 4,167m named Toubkal go Through the Tizi N’Tichka passage on the mountain and enjoy the various landscape views. On the route, we will have a break for tea with mint or coffee at one of the Amazigh Hamlets. The next break will be at Ait Ben Hadou village to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Hadou; an old building that is for collective living, this Kasbah is nominated as a UNESCO Heritage in 1987. This Kasbah and the region, in general, are very important for the industry of film making (famous movies like the man who would be king in 1975 and many others) it is also a fortress on the Salt Road where caravans from different regions came to buy slaves, gold, ivory, and salt. Here we will enjoy the lunchtime special food of the region. Then we will continue the path towards the Dades Valley, through the Kalaat Magouna; a town is known for its thousands of hectares of roses you can admire on May, Skoura Amazigh villages surrounding the valley of Dades; this valley which is shaped in a form of gorges long time ago, here we can spend the first night.

Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (253km/ 4h20m)

On the second day after a tasty breakfast. The caravan will continue the road through the valley admiring the amazing rock formation ( the monkey toes) and the integration of the Kasbahs within the beautiful nature to name but a few of the amazing Kasbah of AitYul from the 19 century. Entering Tinrghir region and the Todra Valley and its panoramic landscape view and surrounding Amazigh villages. In the Todra Valley, we will have a walk through the river with its amazing 300m high red cliff which is a favorite destination for many rock-limbers to practice this sport.

Lunchtime will be served either in Rissani or Erfoud; two town oases in the Sahara, before leaving for Merzouga the village of the golden sand where you will be welcomed with tea with mint then check in a Hotel or Riad and spend the night.

Day 3: Merzouga area and the Camel trek in the desert (FULL-TIME)

The third day in Merzouga will start after a delicious breakfast with a visit to explore the area. We will visit the Gnawi people living in Khamlia Village; who came from southern countries of Africa as slaves in the past and integrated the Moroccan society, listen to their music, and experience their lifestyle at the khaima (tent). Near this village, we can see the lake of Merzouga or Lake Dayet Srij which was dry for a long time, but today welcomes many various birds including the amazing colony of greater flamingos. The visit may also take you to the wire house where many Amazigh handicrafts are sold at a very good price. Back to the hotel or Riad for lunchtime and relax after that you will go for a camel ride with an experienced local camel guide who will take you to explore the sand sea of the Erg-Chebbi for 2-3 hours before dinner. If you prefer to spend the night under the stars around a fire camp to enjoy the fresh air with local music and the wonderful stars in the sky and sleep in a traditional Amazigh tent.

Day 4: Merzouga – Fes (475.2 km/ 7h30m)

Your camel guide will wake you up early in the morning and you will have a chance to watch the best sunrise of your life. Then, you’ll enjoy a camel trek back to your hotel/riad, crossing the unique dunes of Erg Chebbi – changing with the light as the day progresses.

After a tasty breakfast in the local guest house, we will travel to Fes via Erfoud, Aoufous, and Errachidia along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock and through the TiziNtalghamt passes to Midelt. We will stop in Zaida to enjoy a barbecue and refresh with a glass of mint tea, then we continue to Azrou, a Berber village in the Middle Atlas Mountains.  Here we’ll stop to see the Barbarian apes in the famous Cedar forest. Then we drive to Ifrane  – “the French village”, stopping for a picture and drink before we arrive at Fes, where the 4 days from Marrakech to Fes tour via Merzouga desert ends.

Day 3: Merzouga – Errissani – Alnif – Nkob – Agdz – Ouarzazate (353.7 km/ 5h20m)

In the early morning, our guide will wake up you very early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise shining over the golden sand of Mezouga. A few minutes later you will ride back to the auberge in the village to take a fresh shower and a tasty breakfast. Then you will take the route towards Ouarzazate to overnight and visit this wonderful cinematographic place called Hollywood of Morocco, taking pictures of its monuments used for filming.  Passing through many different landscapes and villages Errissani where the Mausoleum of the first sultan of the current Dynasty of Morocco the grandfather of Mohammed the 6th Moulay Ali Cherif.  You may stop for lunch when it is the time at one of those villages.

DAY 4: Ouarzazate – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech (201 km/ 3h33m)

The next morning, you will have a breakfast meal. Then we will start the trip From Ouarzazate, meeting the valley of roses which is cultivated with hectares of roses; their beauty and smell could be seen in May. The drive will take us to the Ighram “the fortified village” of Ait ben Haddou; where we will have lunch, whose name is taken from the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1987, where famous films were shot to name but a few as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, The Mummy. Tizi Ntichka, is the next stop, a mountain wind road which we will climb to the top and take pictures of the amazing view. At the end of the road, Marrakech was known in Tamazight as Amour N Akouch or the land of GOD. Arriving in the evening our driver will pick you up at your last destination.
